The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (MSOM) and Holtz Children's Hospital in the Jackson Health System (JHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced academic general pediatrician to serve as the Director of the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic. This full-time faculty position combines clinical care, teaching, and leadership responsibilities, with opportunities to conduct research and to develop and launch an academic general pediatric fellowship.
The Director will oversee all operational, clinical, quality, and educational activities of the Clinic, ensuring delivery of high-quality, family-centered care, while fostering an environment of academic excellence and innovation. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, mentor learners at multiple levels, and lead efforts to improve clinical outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership:
* Provide overall medical direction and operational oversight for the clinic, ensuring efficient, safe, and patient-centered care.
* As an attending physician in the pediatric resident continuity clinic, the Director will work closely with residents, medical students, and multidisciplinary faculty to advance pediatric education, enhance clinical quality, and support team development.
* Deliver outpatient pediatric care, including preventive, acute, and chronic disease management.
* Develop and implement clinical protocols, workflows, and quality metrics aligned with departmental and institutional goals.
* Collaborate with nursing, administrative, and ancillary staff to optimize clinic operations and patient experience.
* Lead efforts tonsure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.
* Participate in JHS Ambulatory Leadership meetings to represent the clinic and align initiatives with broader institutional goals.
Educational and Faculty Engagement:
* Serve as attending faculty in the pediatric resident continuity clinic, providing supervision, feedback, and hands-on teaching.
* Collaborate with residency and medical-education leadership to design and implement educational initiatives.
* Mentor residents, fellows, and faculty in clinical care, quality improvement, and professional development.
Develop and launch an academic general pediatric fellowship program
Quality & Innovation:
* Oversee quality-improvement projects, clinical performance-data review, and evidence-based initiatives.
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Support integration of population health, preventive care, and community-based models into clinical practice.
Academic Contribution:
* Participate in scholarly activities related to clinical care, education, or community pediatrics.
* Work closely with the Associate Director of Resident Education to align clinical operations, resident teaching, and quality improvement initiatives within the ACC Pediatric Clinic.

Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree, with Board Certification in General Pediatrics.
* Eligibility for Florida medical licensure.
* Minimum of five years of post-residency experience in pediatric clinical care, with at least two years in a leadership or medical director capacity preferred.
* Demonstrated expertise in clinical operations, quality improvement, and medical education.
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster collaboration.
* Experience working with underserved populations and a strong commitment to advancing health equity.
* Experience caring for children with medical complexity, including coordination of multidisciplinary care and collaboration with subspecialty services.
* Spanish or Haitian Creole language proficiency is a plus.
